Unmarked but certainly American and very possibly Russell Green River Works two handed hog splitter with hand forged wrought iron clad hard carbon steel core and waxed cord wrapped handle. 

At first it looked as thought this had some pitting from previous rusting but after cleaning and re-grinding the edge the banding of the wrought iron was obvious. This is a very uncommon material to find and could certainly be fussed with to bring out the banding. 

Handle wrap needed a few spots of glue to re-attach some cords but is now solid.
